【Summary description】China is the world's largest producer and user of antibiotics, but has lacked reliable antibiotic discharge data for many years. In June 2015, the Chinese Academy of Sciences released the country's first antibiotic pollution map, detailing the use and discharge of antibiotics in various regions. Among them, 36 of the most frequently detected antibiotics are used as research objects, with a total amount of more than 90,000 tons, of which animal antibiotics account for 84%; most of the antibiotics are excreted through humans and animals, and more than 50,000 tons of antibiotics are discharged into in the soil and water environment.
